hayley young on tour
April 30th, 2010
the best photographer on the planet as far as the camp around here is concerned, hayley young, has been accompanying us with her presence on all of our tours for the past 3 years.
she's stocked up hundreds of photos on various cameras she's been loaned and purchased, which when compiled will be for a very special visual biography and scrapbook of the band's experiences on the road through her eyes.
more details on the coffee-table book coming soon as well as a short documentary about hayley taking the wild orchid children onto a wildlife refuge to shoot the photographs for the artwork on their new full-length entitled "the wild orchid children are alexander supertramp"
more details on the wild orchid children record in the journal section...
for now though, here's a few shots from hayley's recent outing with us on the west coast:

the west is the best
April 28th, 2010
we've just returned from a quick week-long tour on the west coast, it had been since the summer of 08' since we'd been back to those fair cities and we had to make it a point to hop on here right when we arrived home to say a million times over, thank you, thank you, thank you...
your response during our sets and the conversations with a lot of you before and after the shows were incredible, touching and at times overwhelming. seriously, for fuck's sake quit giving us money for no reason, at least take a 7"...
we all just really enjoy getting together and playing our tunes and didn't have any idea of the importance and place those songs had in your daily lives.
that kind of reciprocation is unique and very special and to say the least it struck a chord in us...
we don't get the opportunity to tour as often as we may like, but knowing when we come to town and there are a whole handful of all of you out there to sing a long and hang out, it makes those rare trips very significant for all of us.
so thank you to richie in modesto, the flower bearer in san francisco, all the kids who cleaned us out of our merch in pomona, virgil dickerson and "kurple fantasy" in denver. there were many more of you we met and hope to chat with again when we're out all of june with damien jurado, so mark your calendars.
dates and cities are listed here...
until we see you again on the dusty trail
humbly yours
